🚓 Police Officer Careers
In accordance with the North Carolina Department of Justice (NCDOJ), all applicants for law enforcement positions must meet the following qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
• U.S. Citizen
• At least 20 years of age
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Good moral character
• Completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and passing the BLET state exam
• Satisfactory completion of agency’s in-service firearms training program
Disqualifying Criminal History
Applicants must not have been convicted of:

A felony
-
Any offense punishable by more than two years imprisonment
-
A “Class B misdemeanor” within the past 5 years
-
Four or more Class B misdemeanors (regardless of date)

Four or more Class A misdemeanors unless the last conviction was over 2 years ago

🔒 Security Officer Careers
If you’re passionate about safety and order, consider becoming a Licensed Security Officer in North Carolina. Below are the required qualifications for unarmed security guards:
Basic Requirements
• Minimum age: 18
• U.S. Citizen or resident alien
• No felonies or recent misdemeanors (within 5 years) related to:

Violence (including domestic)
-
Drug use or sale
-
Theft or fraud
• Good moral character
Application Requirements
• Two (2) recent passport-style photos (1×1 inch)
• Two (2) fingerprint cards
• Certified criminal background check covering the last 48 months
• Employed by a private security company and supervised by a licensed patrol officer
• Complete approved training within 30 days of hire
Additional Helpful Qualifications
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong communication skills
• Good physical condition
• Ability to stand for long periods
📚 Training Requirements (16 Hours Minimum)
